The European Beech is steamed and mostly quartersawn for incredible stability. It is a species of wood that has a subtle and consistent grain which is similar to maple. The circa 1850 stain is a deep brown and very rich looking finish. It is a two pass stain containing black which makes the grain stand out against the dark brown and makes for a beautiful contrasting combination.
